About me

Let me start by introducing myself. My name is Marieke van Schijndel. I was born and raised in The Netherlands. From a very young age, I knew I wanted to become a hairstylist. So, when I was 16 years old, I went to beauty school in Eindhoven. During my school years, I started working in a hair salon. After graduating from beauty school, I started my own business in my parent's garage. My company from home thrived, and three years later, a dream came true, I opened my newly built hair salon in 2007.

I loved working in my salon with a wide variety of clients. To keep my skills up to date, I followed a lot of courses and coached students. After ten beautiful and successful years, a new adventure came along. My husband and I moved to Shenzhen, China.

There I worked as a freelance hairstylist in a local salon. Most of my clients were expats living in and around Shenzhen. Working there was a great experience.

At the beginning of 2020, Singapore became our new home. I found a beautiful place to work as a freelance stylist in the Fiorucci Aveda Salon at The Fullerton Hotel. Although I love working there, I couldn’t let go of the idea of starting my own salon again.

So, I’m delighted to introduce QnippByMarieke to Singapore.
